BRIEF: Bob Odenkirk leaves the '50s behind in Hollywood Hills

Dec. 15--Bob Odenkirk, who will star in the upcoming series "Better Call Saul," has sold his home in the Hollywood Hills for $2.45 million.

The Midcentury Modern-style, built in 1950, retains its period ambience inside and out with splashes of bold color, an art glass door using yellows and oranges, and built-in cabinetry.

The 2,882-square-foot, single-story home, which had been updated, features a formal entry, a great room, a living room with a fireplace and office nook, a dining area, a loft, an office, a family room, three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Views take in the surrounding cityscape and canyon.

The half-acre of grounds includes a covered patio.

Odenkirk, 52, will reprise the role of Saul Goodman from "Breaking Bad" in the 2015 series "Better Call Saul." He has been a writer, producer and director for the current series "Birthday Boys," in which he also appears.

He won an Emmy for writing for "The Ben Stiller Show" in 1993 and for "Saturday Night Live" In 1989.

The property last changed hands in 1998 for $675,450.

Sharona Alperin of Sotheby's International Realty was the listing agent. Juliette Hohnen of Hilton Hyland represented the buyer.
