BRIEF: Blizzard doesn't stop Kris Bryant, Jake Arrieta from accepting awards

Jan. 24--More than two feet of snow? No problem for two Cubs.

Kris Bryant accepted his NL Rookie of the Year award and Jake Arrieta picked up his NL Cy Young award Saturday night in New York, where a blizzard dumped 28 inches of snow.

"I've never seen anything like this," said the Las Vegas-born Bryant on MLB.com. "I'm enjoying it, although I'm sure you New Yorkers aren't."

Unfortunately, the snowstorm did prevent NL Manager of the Year Joe Maddon, as well as AL counterpart Jeff Banister of the Rangers, from attending.

In attendance for the Baseball Writers' Association of America Awards Dinner: AL Rookie of the Year Carlos Correa of the Astros, AL Most Valuable Player Josh Donaldson of the Blue Jays, NL Most Valuable Player Bryce Harper of the Nationals and AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel of the Astros.

Check out the players' acceptance speeches here ahead of Friday's airing of the award show at 9 p.m. CT on MLB Network.
