Feb. 12--Spencer Hawes saw Blake Griffin at the Clippers' practice facility Tuesday, the day after Griffin had surgery to remove a staph infection from his right elbow.
"He looked pretty good for a guy who just had surgery," Hawes said.
Hawes said Griffin was even in a good mood.
"Considering what it could have been when he got in there, I think he's feeling pretty good about it," Hawes said.
Before the surgery, the Clippers said Griffin could be out anywhere from 10 days to six weeks. The team announced after the surgery Griffin will be reevaluated at the three-week mark.
That means the Clippers will be without their superstar power forward for at least nine games.
Luckily for the Clippers, Griffin's ordeal is coming at a pretty good time considering they have no games during one of those weeks because of All-Star break, which extends from Feb. 12-18 for the Clippers.
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said he spoke with Griffin on Tuesday, and Griffin told him he would try to attend the team's game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, only two days after his surgery.
"As of yesterday, he was coming, which means he's feeling a lot better," Rivers said before Wednesday's game.
