BRIEF: Blake Griffin on Halloween: 'My mom never let us go trick-or-treating'

Oct. 31--When Clippers superstar power forward Blake Griffin was young, he didn't have the typical childhood experience of putting on a costume and going door-to-door getting candy on Halloween.

"My mom never let us go trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, so we always went to Chuck E. Cheese or something," Griffin said, adding that his mother thought trick-or-treating was too dangerous where he grew up.

So it's no surprise that Griffin doesn't approach the holiday with the same generosity and nostalgia most of us have.

In fact, he said he's hesitant to leave treats outside of his home when the Clippers play the Lakers on Halloween night at 7:30 at Staples Center.

"I guess I should put a bucket out, but, you know, kids these days are greedy," he said.

Griffin joked that if he does decide to leave out some candy, he will take proper precautions.

"Take one, please, sign and three cameras [on it]," he said, laughing.
