BRIEF: Blair Brown joins the cast of Steppenwolf's 'Mary Page Marlowe'

Feb. 11--Tony-award winner Blair Brown will join the cast of "Mary Page Marlowe," Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced Thursday.

Brown, who received a Tony for her performance in "Copenhagen" in 2000 and most recently appeared as Nina Sharp on the FOX series "Fringe," will share the role of Mary with the previously announced actors Carrie Coon, Laura T. Fisher, Caroline Heffernan, Annie Munch and Rebecca Spence. Brown replaces Lindsay Crouse as Mary at ages 59, 63 and 69.

It was also announced that the final Mary will be played by three infants: Benicio Calderone, Charlotte Freund and Sebastian White. The very-young actors will rotate in the role.

The world-premiere production written by ensemble member Tracy Letts, to be directed by Anna D. Shapiro, follows the seemingly ordinary life of an Ohio accountant.

"Mary Page Marlowe" runs March 31 -- May 29 in the Steppenwolf Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St.
