BRIEF: Blackhawks suspend prospect Garret Ross indefinitely

March 24--The Blackhawks have suspended Garret Ross indefinitely pending the outcome of a criminal proceeding against the prospect after Ross was charged with a felony for sharing an image of a woman engaged in a sexual act without her consent -- more commonly known as "revenge porn."

The Hawks also said in a statement they only became aware of a "legal proceeding" against Ross on Saturday. Ross, 23, who plays for the team's AHL affiliate in Rockford, was charged with the felony on Feb. 2 after a four-month investigation into the alleged offense.

"(The Blackhawks and IceHogs) learned of a legal proceeding against IceHogs player Garret Ross," the statement said. "At that time, we excused Garret from team activities pending our preliminary review of the matter. After further review, we have determined to suspend Garret indefinitely pending the outcome of the legal process. Because this is a pending legal proceeding, we will have no further comment at this time."

The winger had continued to play for the IceHogs after he was charged and his last game with the team was Friday against the Wolves.
