BRIEF: Blackhawks sign Viktor Svedberg to one-year deal

Aug. 05--The Blackhawks have agreed to terms with defenseman Viktor Svedberg on a one-year contract.

Svedberg, 24, recorded 14 points (3 goals with 11 assists) in 49 regular-season games in his second season with Rockford.

Svedberg tweeted on Wednesday: "Happy and honored to be staying another year in the @NHLBlackhawks organization. #Hawks #Hogs"

Svedberg, from Gothenburg, Sweden, was originally signed as a free agent on Oct. 19, 2013.
