May 25--Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman was busy at the 2016 World Championship and came away with three signings.
The Hawks signed goaltender Lars Johansson, defenseman Michal Kempny and forward Martin Lundberg to one-year contracts, the team announced Tuesday.
Kempny, 25, had 21 points through 59 games in his first season with the Kontinental Hockey League's Avangard Omsk. He had two assists in eight games with the Czech Republic at the World Championship.
Johansson, 28, has played the last three seasons with Frolunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League, posting a 56-27-0 record with 11 shutouts in 93 games. Johnson, a native of Avesta, Sweden, also played professionally in Sweden's Allsvenskan league.
Lundberg, 25, had 21 points in 44 games with the SHL's Skelleftea AIK. Playing for Sweden in the World Championship, he scored two goals in eight games.
Both Kempny and Lunberg also participated in the 2010 World Junior Championship.
