Dec. 16--The Chicago Blackhawks bolstered the forward position when they recalled Joakim Nordstrom from the AHL Rockford IceHogs on Monday.
After sending Jeremy Morin to Rockford on a conditioning assignment last week -- he was later traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets -- the Hawks had been carrying 12 forwards.
The 22-year-old Nordstrom has two assists in 10 games with the Hawks this season and has also excelled at Rockford, where he is the IceHogs' captain. The Stockholm, Sweden, native has eight goals and fice assists in 17 game with Rockford this seasoon, including his first career hat trick on Saturday at Lake Erie.
