BRIEF: Blackhawks' Marian Hossa named NHL's First Star

Feb. 16--Marian Hossa had a week to remember and the Chicago Blackhawks winger was recognized for it as the NHL named him its First Star for the week ending Feb. 15.

Hossa led the league with five goals and added an assist in four games to help the Hawks extend their points streak to six. He began the week with a pair of two-goal efforts, which followed up on a previous game with two scores to become the sixth Hawks player in history to record three consecutive multi-goal performances.

The offensive surge has the 36-year-old Hossa ranking third on the Hawks in scoring with 17 goals and 25 assists in 57 games.

Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli was the Second Star with four goals, two assists while Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators was named Third Star after the goaltender went 3-0-0 with a 1.30 goals-against average and .954 save percentage.
