BRIEF: Blackhawks lead Penguins 1-0 after first period

Jan. 07--Artemi Panarin must like playing the Penguins.

The rookie winger scored his third goal in two nights and has helped the Hawks open a 1-0 lead on the Penguins. Panarin scored two goals in Tuesday's overtime victory, including the game winner. Panarin's goal came at the end of a long shift for the second line with Panarin capping it off with a shot from the right circle.

Michal Rozsival drew back into the lineup in place of fellow veteran Rob Scuderi. Brandon Mashinter was also a scratch for the Hawks, who were seeking their fifth consecutive victory. Scott Darling is in net for the Hawks.

Scratches for the Penguins included Adam Clendening, David Warsofsky and Conor Sheary.
