BRIEF: Blackhawks hand out Stanley Cup rings

Oct. 05--With the regular season set to start Wednesday, the Blackhawks celebrated last year's Stanley Cup championship Sunday night with a private ceremony downtown to hand out the championship rings.

Designed by Jostens, the Cup rings contain 355 diamonds set in a 14-karat white gold ring. The stones on top, which are formed in Blackhawks' logo, create an all-white ring that is over 10.8 carats. The words "Stanley Cup Champions" surround the top and bottom of the ring top.

The left side of the ring features the six Stanley Cups the Hawks have won, with the bases made out of diamonds while the right side features the Hawks' secondary logo and the name and number of each player.

On the inside of the ring, there is a silhouette of the trophy along with the team's "One goal" motto and the results of the each of the Hawks' playoff series.
