Teravainen, the Hawks' top selection (18th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, was recalled Saturday to replace the injured Kris Versteeg. The 20-year-old Finn center the fourth line flanked by wingers Ben Smith and Joakim Nordstrom.
"I'm just trying to play smart, simple hockey and play to my strengths," Teravainen said following the morning skate.

Kris Versteeg missed his first game since suffering a left hand injury that is expected to keep the veteran winger out of the Hawks' lineup for about a month. Winger Daniel Carcillo and defenseman Tim Erixon were healthy scratches. Sitting for the Stars were David Schlemko and Travis Morin.
