BRIEF: Blackhawks Game Day: Predators take 1-0 lead

April 16--With Patrick Kane back on the ice, the Blackhawks began their second season Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville against the Predators.

But the Hawks didn't get off to the start they had anticipated. Colin Wilson skated past Michal Rozsival and beat Corey Crawford's stick to give the Predators a 1-0 lead.

Wilson blew past an out-of-position Rozsival and sent a wrist shot past Crawford at 6 minutes, 7 seconds in the first period.

The Hawks' first shot on goal of the game came after about five minutes of action. Kane's first shift after recovering from a broken left collarbone was an uneventful one and he absorbed a hit to the left side of his body in his first few seconds on the ice.

Antoine Vermette, whom the Hawks acquired for a hefty price before the trade deadline, was a healthy scratch for Game 1.
