March 03--A couple of veteran NHLers made their debuts for the Chicago Blackhawks when the team took the ice to face the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night at the United Center.
Center Antoine Vermette and defenseman Kimmo Timonen, who were acquired via trades over the weekend, were in the lineup for the Hawks.

Corey Crawford started for the Hawks after serving as Scott Darling's backup during a 4-0 loss to the Lightning on Friday night. Cam Ward got the call for the Hurricanes.

Scratches for the Hawks were Johnny Oduya (upper body), Daniel Carcillo (healthy) and Andrew Desjardins (acquired in a trade Monday). Sitting for the Hurricanes were Patrick Dwyer and Rasmus Rissanen.
