Jan. 09--ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Chicago Blackhawks concluded the first half of their season when they faced the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
Daniel Carcillo drew back into the Hawks' lineup after being a healthy scratch the two previous games. The veteran replaced rookie Teuvo Teravainen, who was held off the scoresheet in his first two contests of the season.
First period update
After 20 minutes of play, the Hawks led 2-0 on the strength of goals by Patrick Sharp and Patrick Kane (power play).
In the nets
Corey Crawford made his seventh consecutive start in goal for the Hawks. Nicklas Backstrom manned the crease for the Wild.
Roster report
In addition to Teravainen, also scratched for the Hawks were winger Kris Versteeg (hand) and defenseman Tim Erixon (healthy). Sitting for the Wild were Zach Parise, Stu Bickel and Marco Scandella.
