BRIEF: Blackhawks down Blue Jackets 4-1

Oct. 18--There's nothing like facing a team that is allowing over five goals a game to break you out of your offensive doldrums.

That's what happened for the Blackhawks on Saturday night at the United Center in their 4-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.

After scoring just one goal in their previous two games, the Hawks broke the game open in the second period.

The first goal came from Artem Anisimov, who faced his former team, at 15 minutes, 35 seconds of the period when he took a feed from Artemi Panarin and scored on a backhand past Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis McElhinney.

Then just over a minute later, Teuvo Teravainen scored a power-play goal after his pass near the net deflected off the skate of Blue Jackets defender Dalton Prout.

Marian Hossa added an unassisted goal in the third period for his first of the season while Patrick Kane added an empty net goal late.

Saturday's game marked the return of former Hawks winger Brandon Saad, who was traded to the Blue Jackets this offseason and signed a six-year deal with Columbus.

"A lot of emotions going but the biggest thing is just enjoying the process," Saad said before the game. "I have a lot of good memories here and should be a fun one."
