May 03--Center Artem Anisimov appeared to have been playing through an injury during the final games of the Blackhawks season.
Anisimov had surgery Tuesday to repair an injury on his right wrist, team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a statement. He can resume full hockey activities in six-to-eight weeks, according to Terry.
In his first season with the Hawks, the 27-year-old had 20 goals and 22 assists playing on a line with Artemi Panarin and Patrick Kane. Anisimov is slated to play with Panarin in the World Cup of Hockey for Team Russia. That event is scheduled in September in Toronto.
Anisimov is signed with the Hawks through the 2020-21 season.
