Dec. 10--There will be no need to get behind the steering wheel after tipping back drinks at a new Bin 36 restaurant that is set to open in the CTA headquarters building next spring, under a lease approved Wednesday.
A total of eight new concession leases were approved by the transit agency's board, including Grab-A-Bite, a snack shop popular on the London Underground rail system.
Chicago-based Bin 36, a restaurant, bar and retail market, will be relocating to 161 N. Jefferson St., inside the CTA's main office in the West Loop. It's close to the Clinton rail station, served by the Green and Pink lines.
Bin 36 will occupy about 5,600 square feet, plus a 2,000-square-foot outdoor dining area, officials said.
Grab-A-Bite will be at the Chicago/State Red Line station and the Division, Western/Milwaukee and Washington stations on the Blue Line, officials said.
The CTA board also approved leases for a newsstand space at the Clark/Division Red Line station and newsstand-convenience marts at the Loyola Red Line and Harlem/Lake Green Line stations.
