BRIEF: Billy Corgan's Halloween tea bash sells out in hours

Oct. 28--There will be some melancholy Smashing Pumpkins fans.

Tickets to frontman Billy Corgan's Halloween party at his Madame ZuZu's teahouse in Highland Park sold out in only a few hours this week.

The $15 celebration will include a costume contest, special servings of a "ghoulish" tea and dessert and a "vintage-style, peel-apart picture of you taken by your creaky yet congenial host, Count William Corgan."

The Saturday event, which runs from 9 p.m. to midnight, was posted Tuesday. At 5 p.m. Tuesday, a representative for the teahouse tweeted that only five reservations remained. No tickets were available Wednesday morning.

The party comes less than a month after Corgan, 48, announced he was quitting his @billy Twitter account to focus on the vintage pictures site peopleandtheircars.com.

Last week, a picture of Corgan drinking from a peopleandtheircars.com mug was posted on that site with a link to purchase the mug for $14.99.
