BRIEF: Bill Murray rubbed Cubs lineup card on his body before Sunday's game

Oct. 20--Keep Bill Murray away from Tuesday night's Cubs lineup card.

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel said Cubs manager Joe Maddon asked Murray, a Cubs superfan who grew up in Wilmette, to touch Sunday's lineup card for the National League Championship Series game against the New York Mets.

"Not only did you touch it, you rubbed it all over your body. Do you think that is why the Cubs lost (Sunday)?" Kimmel asked on Monday's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Murray, who dressed as an aristocratic clown for the appearance, said he tried to change the luck of Sunday's game by changing seats. The Cubs lost 4-1.

"We thought maybe it would change the mojo a little bit," Murray said. Kimmel teased him and said that maybe if he had stayed in his original seat the Cubs might have won.

"It's a seven-game series," Murray replied.

The Cubs face the Mets in Game 3 on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. The Mets lead the series 2-0.
