BRIEF: Bill Murray now belongs to the Caddie Hall of Fame

Sept. 17--It's been a big week for Bill Murray.

Murray, who was raised in Wilmette and turns 65 on Monday, was inducted into The Caddie Hall of Fame Wednesday night in Lake Forest with his five brothers. Also this week, a book was released about his quirks and how they have affected his movie roles.

Before his induction Wednesday night, Murray played a round of golf at Conway Farms wearing argyle Cubs shorts. He signed autographs and took pictures with those in attendance.

When asked about the induction, Murray told the Tribune, "I'll believe it when I see it. The last time someone told me something like that, I was a caddie and I ended up being the victim of a practical joke. So we'll see what happens."

The "Caddyshack" star and his brothers worked as caddies at the Indian Hill Club in Winnetka.

Murray's rock-and-roll comedy "Rock the Kasbah" is slated to hit theaters Oct. 23.
