BRIEF: Big tests for Cubs' Clayton Richard, Kyle Schwarber vs. Reds

July 20--Clayton Richard tries to block out all the talk about the Chicago Cubs pursuing starting pitching.

But he can at least help the Cubs push closer to 10 games over the .500 mark Monday night by beating the Reds at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Richard will be starting for the second time for the Cubs. Only this time, he will be throwing to rookie Kyle Schwarber, who will be making his second start as a catcher.

Richard and Schwarber will have the task of keeping speedy Billy Hamilton off the base paths. Hamilton leads the National League with 45 stolen bases.

Before the game, the Reds promoted pitcher Dylan Axelrod from Triple-A Louisville and placed left-hander Manny Parra on the disabled list.
