Jan. 28--The best gig in the country is a physician assistant, according to job search website Glassdoor.
The Mill Valley, Calif.-based company released a list of its 25 best jobs in America on Wednesday, laying out the country's most attractive jobs based on an overall score determined by three factors: average annual base salary, career opportunities and job openings.
Physician assistant, which has an average base salary of $111,000 and more than 45,000 job openings across the country, topped the list.
It was followed by software engineer, which commands more than $98,000 per year and claims, according to Glassdoor, nearly 105,000 job openings.
Other jobs on the list include: business development manager, human resource manager, marketing manager and database administrator. All of the top jobs have average base salaries of at least $64,000.
Solutions architects command the highest salary on the list with an average annual base pay of $113,363 and physical therapists had the lowest average annual base salary of $64,806.
The most job openings on the list are for software engineers.
