BRIEF: Ben Zobrist rests in Cubs' series finale vs. Dodgers

June 02--One of Joe Maddon's missions this season was to give 35-year-old second baseman Ben Zobrist ample rest, and the Chicago Cubs manager is fulfilling that goal Thursday.

Zobrist is not in the starting lineup as the Cubs try to win the fourth game of their four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Zobrist, who batted .406 in May, is hitless in his past six at-bats. Javier Baez will take over at second base, with Jorge Soler starting in left field.
