June 11--The Chicago Bears will practice with the Indianapolis Colts twice leading up to their preseason game on Aug. 22.
Practices will be held Aug. 19 and 20 at the Colts' practice facility in Indianapolis, and they'll be closed to the public. The Bears and new coach John Fox play the Colts in the third preseason game Aug. 22 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The teams' agreement to practice together stemmed from the longstanding relationship Bears general manager Ryan Pace has with Colts general manager Ryan Grigson. The two got to know each other over the years on the road as they ascended the NFL's scouting ranks.
This is the Bears' first practice with another team since their workouts with the Rams in the summer of 2004, coach Lovie Smith's debut season.
The Bears break training camp in Bourbonnais on Sunday, Aug. 16.
