BRIEF: Bears sign tight end Bear Pascoe

April 23--With a week left before the NFL draft, the Chicago Bears added a little more depth at tight end and to their special teams Thursday, finalizing a one-year deal with veteran Bear Pascoe.

Pascoe, a sixth-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2009, spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons after a five-year stint with the New York Giants. In 82 career games, he has totaled 40 catches for 336 yards with two touchdowns, and is noted more for his blocking and toughness at the tight end position.

Pascoe also has the potential to be a significant contributor on special teams and will join a tight ends group in Lake Forest that features Martellus Bennett as well as Dante Rosario, Zach Miller, Blake Annen and Jacob Maxwell.
