BRIEF: Bears sign safety Malcolm Bronson

May 01--The Bears signed safety Malcolm Bronson to a two-year contract Thursday after he participated in their minicamp this week.

Bronson spent part of 2013 on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad after joining them as an undrafted free agent out of McNeese St. He was released before the start of the 2014 season.

Safety is one of the Bears' many needs entering the draft. They signed veteran Antrel Rolle in free agency and paired him with veteran Ryan Mundy, who they signed last offseason. They drafted free safety Brock Vereen in the fourth round last spring.

Bronson, who's 5-foot-11 and 192 pounds, had 230 tackles and 10 interceptions in college.
