BRIEF: Bears send receiver Marquess Wilson to IR with foot injury

Dec. 12--Marquess Wilson's season is over. The Chicago Bears placed the third-year receiver on injured reserve Saturday with a foot injury he suffered a week-and-a-half ago. Wilson missed last week's game against the 49ers four days after hurting his foot in practice. And now he will wind up missing the season's final five games overall due to the setback, ending a campaign that saw him make 28 catches for 464 yards and one touchdown. Wilson's biggest output was a 102-yard effort in a Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. He also caught a key 22-yard TD pass from Jay Cutler in the Bears' come-from-behind 18-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in October.

To fill Wilson's spot on the 53-man roster, the Bears promoted cornerback Demontre Hurst off the practice squad. Hurst could be utilized on special teams during Sunday's contest against the Washington Redskins. He may also be an option to aid the Bears' secondary with starting slot cornerback Bryce Callahan questionable to play Sunday because of a quadriceps issue.
