Oct. 07--The Chicago Bears promoted defensive back Demontre Hurst from the practice squad Wednesday morning, adding depth to the safety position in the wake of Antrel Rolle's right ankle injury.
Hurst played slot cornerback and safety during the preseason. He played two snaps at safety in the season-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers and was waived the following week. Hurst played 15 games for the Bears in 2014, mostly as a slot cornerback and special teamer.
The Bears also signed guard/center Ryan Seymour to the practice squad.
