BRIEF: Bears' loss a fantasy win for Blackhawks' Patrick Kane

Dec. 16--There was at least one Chicago athlete who was happy with how the Chicago Bears played against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night -- at least at the end.

After Tuesday's morning skate at the United Center in preparation for their game against the Minnesota Wild, Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane explained why he was all smiles despite the Bears' 31-15 defeat:

"I was down like maybe seven or eight points when the Bears got the ball on the last possession with two minutes left -- in my fantasy league -- and I have (Alshon) Jeffrey on my team," Kane said. "He caught like a 35-yard-pass and then they threw a dump-off to (Ka'Deem) Carey and I was just in bed kind of screaming, 'Don't score, don't score.' He got tackled at the 5-yard-line and my girlfriend was just kind of looking at me like I'm nuts.

"They threw the back-shoulder fade to Jeffrey, one-on-one coverage -- I knew it was coming. I ended up winning my fantasy league and moving on to the championship. I actually was playing against Jeremy Morin and he was texting me all (ticked) off. My girlfriend was kind of looking at me like, 'It's 31-15, why are you cheering?' I was pumped up about my fantasy win. It was good for me. I was happy."
