BRIEF: Bears hire Jay Rodgers as DL coach

Jan. 26--The Bears hired defensive line coach Jay Rodgers, who held that role with the Broncos for the last three seasons under new Bears coach John Fox.

Over the last three years, which coincided with quarterback Peyton Manning's arrival in Denver, the Broncos led the NFL in rushing defense (90.8 yards per game) and were fourth with 134 sacks.

Last season, they ranked second against the run (79.8 ypg), fourth in rushing average (3.66 ypc) and tied for ninth in sacks (41).
