BRIEF: Bears GM tabs Josh Lucas as director of player personnel

Jan. 18--Without question, the Bears' two biggest moves of January have been the hirings of Ryan Pace as their general manager and John Fox as coach. But that doesn't mean the organization's reshuffling is complete.

Fox is hard at work looking to find new coordinators and solidify the coaching staff as a whole.

And Pace delivered a significant front-office move this weekend with the hiring of Josh Lucas to become the Bears' director of player personnel.

A team spokesman confirmed Lucas' hiring Sunday.

Lucas, 35, spent the last 10 seasons in the personnel department for the Saints, the same organization Pace arrived from. Lucas was most recently an area scout for the Saints, a role he held since 2007.

Lucas is a Harvard graduate who played safety for the Crimson in the late 1990s.
