Jan. 26--The Chicago Bears have hired Richard Hightower as an assistant special teams coach, filling a role that came open when Derius Swinton left to join the San Francisco 49ers.
Hightower, it so happens, arrives from San Francisco where he spent last season in a similar role with the 49ers. Hightower was also an offensive quality control coach with the Cleveland Browns in 2014 and spent four seasons with the Washington Redskins as both an assistant special teams coach and an assistant defensive backs coach.
