Nov. 25--See you later, Elsa. Barbie has put the freeze on Disney's "Frozen."
The classic doll with the exaggerated measurements once again tops the list of toys that shoppers plan to buy for the young girls on their holiday gift list, according to a National Retail Federation survey.
Barbie lost her crown to Disney's "Frozen" characters in 2014. That was the first time in the survey's 11-year history that Barbie had been toppled.
The survey asks holiday shoppers what toys they plan to buy for the children in their lives. Among those already armed with lists, 21.2 percent said they'd buy a Barbie for the young girls; only 13 percent of adults said they'd buy toys related to Disney's "Frozen."
Rounding out the top five for girls are: dolls generally, Monster High dolls and American Girl dolls.
Lego tops the list for boys, followed by "Star Wars" toys, cars and trucks, video games and Hot Wheels.
The survey polled 7,172 consumers and was conducted on behalf of the trade group by Prosper Insights Analytics from Nov. 3, 2015, to Nov. 10, 2015. The consumer poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.2 percentage points.
