Oct. 23--Chicago Shakespeare Theater has announced that artistic director Barbara Gaines will direct the West Coast premiere of "Sense and Sensibility."
The musical will play July 6 -- Aug. 14 at The Old Globe Theater in San Diego.
The adaptation of Jane Austen's romance novel premiered at Chicago Shakespeare in the Courtyard Theater April 2015. The original production included book and lyrics by Tony-nominee Paul Gordon and was directed by Gaines.
The Old Globe, a recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award along with Chicago Shakespeare, recently produced runs of the Broadway-bound productions of "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder," "Allegiance" and Steve Martin's upcoming musical "Bright Star."
