BRIEF: Bail denied for Englewood man accused of 2013 sexual assault

Aug. 09--An Englewood man charged in connection with a 2013 sexual assault was ordered held without bail Saturday.

Anteriose Williams, 33, of the 500 block of West 72nd Street, is charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault stemming from a September 2013 incident in West Englewood, according to court documents.

The victim, a 20-year-old West Englewood woman, was bound, gagged, sexually assaulted and choked until she lost consciousness, prosecutors said in court Saturday. She was later transported to the hospital where a sexual assault kit was conducted. Police investigators used DNA to eventually track down Williams, who was arrested Thursday.

"Mr. Williams, there is no set of conditions that would keep the people safe," said Judge Adam Bourgeous before he ordered Williams held without bail.

Williams is due back in court Monday.
