July 23--Theater Wit's production of the Joshua Harmon comedy "Bad Jews" has turned into quite a hit. After a successful run this spring at Theater Wit on Belmont Avenue, the show moved to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, where, a spokesman said, it has been doing close-to-capacity to business.
When that run concludes on Aug. 8, "Bad Jews" will move to the Royal George Theatre in Chicago, 1641 N. Halsted St., reopening Aug. 28 with most of the original cast still attached. That engagement in the Royal George's cabaret space is slated to run at least through Oct. 2, with an expanded six-shows-a-week schedule.
Similarly successful in New York, the satirical "Bad Jews" probes an inter-family squabble over religion and Jewish culture. Theater Wit artistic director Jeremy Wechsler said the show was the most successful production in the company's history. For more information, visit badjewschicago.com.
