BRIEF: Authorities investigating body found in San Pedro harbor

Dec. 10--Police are investigating the death of a person whose body was found in the waters off San Pedro, authorities said Thursday.

The body was pulled from the water near Berth 206 in the harbor just before 8 a.m., Los Angeles firefighters said.

There were no obvious signs of foul play, LAPD officials said. Authorities could not immediately identify the person or determine gender.

The county coroner will perform an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
