March 02--A 32-year-old man from Aurora was struck and killed by a freight train late Saturday night in Downers Grove, the DuPage County coroner's office confirmed Monday.
The incident happened about 11:30 p.m. on Metra's BNSF railway line near the Downers Grove stop, said Metra spokeswoman Meg Reilly.
After the man was hit trains traveling in both directions were halted. Trains had resumed running by about 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a Metra alert.
Downers Grove police would not comment on the incident early Sunday morning.
