BRIEF: Auditorium Theatre appoints interim CEO

April 21--The Auditorium Theatre announced Thursday that Henry Fogel has been named the company's interim CEO, effective immediately.

Fogel, the dean of the music and theater conservatories at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts, joined Roosevelt in 2009 after leading the League of American Orchestras, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association and Washington D.C.'s National Symphony Orchestra.

Brett Batterson, the executive director of the Auditorium Theatre since 2004, left in November to become the president and chief executive officer of the Memphis Development Foundation, which operates the Orpheum Theatre and the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts Education.

Associate Dean Rudy Marcozzi, a professor of core music studies, will take over Fogel's position at Roosevelt, serving as the interim dean of the CCPA.

During this time, the Auditorium Theatre will continue its search for Batterson's replacement.
