Dec. 06--The Chicago Tribune Media Group's Post-Tribune is reporting: The financial record-keeping for the town of Beverly Shores is a mess, according to an audit done by the State Board of Accounts and filed earlier this week.
It's such a mess that Clerk-Treasurer Laura Sullivan, 57, who is resigning effective at the end of this month, three years into a four-year term, is on the hook for almost $7,000 in penalties, interest and fees from the Internal Revenue Service and the Indiana Department of Revenue, among others.
