6 wounded in Chicago shootings

Feb. 22--At least six people have been wounded since Sunday afternoon in separate shootings, Chicago police said.

The most recent shooting happened at 4:25 a.m. Monday in Rogers Park, police said. A 27-year-old man was on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of West Birchwood Avenue when someone exited a dark sedan and fired shots, hitting him in the leg. He went to St. Francis Hospital and his condition was stabilized.

At 2:40 p.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old man was shot in Englewood.

He was walking in the 5900 block of South Normal Boulevard when someone fired from a passing vehicle, striking him in the hand and shoulder, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, and his condition was stabilized.

At 1:10 p.m., a man and a woman were wounded in the 5400 block of South Harper Avenue in the Hyde Park neighborhood.

A 32-year-old man was grazed in the head by a bullet, and a 23-year-old woman was shot in the leg, police said.

Both were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

At 12:20 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in Back of the Yards, police said. He was in the 4500 block of South Marshfield Avenue when he was shot in the leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, and his condition was stabilized.

Also about 12:20 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the Pill Hill neighborhood. He was in the 9200 block of South Chappell Avenue when he was shot in the leg. Some acquaintances took him to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
