Feb. 23--Two armed robbery suspects were arrested after they broke into a home in west suburbn Lyons, then led police on a chase down the Stevenson and Dan Ryan expressways and into Chicago, authorities said.
The robbers had entered a home in the 4500 block of Pulaski Avenue in Lyons around 7:15 p.m., according to town spokesman Ray Hanania. They were going through the house looking for something to steal when a daughter in an upstairs room called police, Hanania said.
Officers got to the home as the suspects jumped into a silver Honda and headed for the Stevenson, then the Dan Ryan, he said. They left the Dan Ryan near 65th Street and were arrested by Englewood District officers at 65th and Wentworth Avenue, Hanania said.
"Fortunately, no one was injured at the home. Police arrived just in time, and the suspects fled," Lyons police Chief Jim Keating said in a statement. "The victims were able to make a positive identification of the two suspects."
Charges were pending against the two, Hanania said.
