BRIEF: Apple sends out invites for Sept. 9 event in San Francisco

Aug. 27--Once again, the rumors proved true.

Apple just sent out media invites for its annual September event, which will be held on Sept. 9 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Traditionally, the Cupertino, Calif., tech company's September event has been devoted to introducing the latest iPhone models, although this year it might also reveal the latest-generation Apple TV. Expect some updates on the Apple Watch and iOS 9 as well.

As usual, the invite was light on details. "Hey Siri, give us a hint," was printed across the top.

The event begins at 10 a.m. PDT. We'll be reporting live from San Francisco that day; no word yet on whether Apple will provide a livestream.

Thursday's event was right on schedule: Last year, Apple held its iPhone event on Sept. 9 and sent invites out two Thursdays in advance.
