April 06--Anthony Rizzo is joining the ranks of sports great Doug Flutie, Chad Ochocinco, Jerome Bettis, Lynn Swann and Joe Votto.
He's getting his own cereal.
"RizzO's," a honey nut toasted oat cereal, is available now at some Chicago area Jewel-Osco stores and through plbsports.com and amazon.com.
Rizzo is expected to officially introduce the cereal at an event April 14. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation.
"We are excited to be the exclusive retailer selling "RizzO's" Cereal," Doug Cygan, Jewel-Osco vice president of marketing and merchandising, said in a statement. "We are even more thrilled to partner with Anthony Rizzo and his Foundation to help support children and their families battling cancer. We feel that our two local names can really do big things together."
Some previous athletes' cereals include: Jerome Bettis' "Bettis HOF Crunch"; Joey Votto's "VottO's" Doug Flutie's "Flutie Flakes" Lynn Swann's "Super 88" and Chad Ochocinco's "OchocincO's."
