BRIEF: Another football player takes aim at Summer Olympics

Jan. 04--USC star Adore頊ackson won't be the only big-time football player taking a shot at the Olympics this summer.

With the Buffalo Bills done for the season, receiver Marquise Goodwin announced he will try to make the U.S. team that travels to Rio de Janeiro.

Like Jackson, Goodwin competes in the long jump. Unlike Jackson, the NFL veteran has some Olympic credentials after competing at the 2012 London Games.

"Just trying to accomplish all the dreams I set out to do while I can, while I'm still able-bodied," he was quoted as saying in the Buffalo News.

The Bills coaches might still have a say in the matter -- if Goodwin qualifies for Rio, he would miss part of training camp.

USC Coach Clay Helton has given Jackson permission to skip spring practice, saying: "When you get the opportunity to go work for the Olympics, you need to go work at that."
