Feb. 04--A winter weather advisory has been issued for a storm that could deepen snowdrifts by another 2 to 4 inches Wednesday, mostly in areas south of Interstate 80. And then it will get really cold again.
The advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Will County in Illinois and Lake County in Indiana, according to the National Weather Service.
The sometimes intense band of snow is spreading out of Iowa and northern Missouri across Illinois into Indiana. Snow could fall at a rate of 1 inch an hour in some places, the weather service said.
Temperatures will plunge after the latest snowfall, to as low as 10 below Wednesday night with wind chills down to 20 below, the weather service said.
Thursday will see highs in the mid-teens, but wind chills will remain as low as 20 below in some spots in the morning.
Highs will rebound into the 30s by Friday under partly sunny skies.
