BRIEF: American, United offer free flight changes in Midwest on Christmas Eve

Dec. 24--American and United airlines customers planning to fly in or out of some Midwest cities in the path of bad weather can change their flights for free, the carriers said Wednesday.

American Airlines passengers flying Wednesday to or from cities including St. Louis, Springfield, Peoria, Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington-Normal, Chicago, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Detroit can call to change their flights.

United said travelers flying to or from Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Mich., Madison, Wis., and Milwaukee on Christmas Eve can change their flights.

A winter storm is expected to hit some areas of the Midwest on Christmas Eve, though the Chicago area is expected to receive mostly rain.
