BRIEF: America's Cup boats will sport Chicago team sails

June 06--So will the White Sox's boat be christened "Chris Sail"?

When America's Cup organizers stage a youth event on Lake Michigan on Thursday, the young participants will be sailing Chicago-sports-themed boats.

Students from the America's Cup Endeavor program will man six Hobie catamarans brandishing colors of the Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox, Sky and Fire. The program, which launches in Chicago this summer, introduces young people to sailing and incorporates lessons about science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

The youth race serves as a prelude for the America Cup's World Series at Navy Pier on June 10, a qualifying race for next year's finals.
